How to Get Motivated to Work

Would you like to get motivated again? If so, then watch this short video (or read the transcript below) with an insider tip on how to get motivated for work, for career, and for your life.

Transcript:

In today’s episode, we’re going to talk about a simple technique you can use to get motivated and to stay motivated.

Let’s do this.

If you’re like a lot of people, you’re wondering how to get and stay motivated for a book you’re writing, a business you’re launching, or even a presentation you’re making.

The problem is, you’re not feeling motivated to get started.

Or, if you’re like a lot of people, you’re waiting for that inner spark to get you going.

Sounds familiar, right?

I’m going to give you a very simple technique you can use to fix that problem.

The technique is the opposite of what other people have told you about motivation.

And if you embrace this insight and use it in your life, it can be a game-changer for that book, that business, or that presentation you’re working on.

It all starts with a common misunderstanding about motivation.

Most people are led to believe that motivation starts from the inside and works out from there.

In other words, we believe that we have to feel motivated first before we take action.

So … if we’re writing a book, we wait for inspiration before starting.

Or, if we’re launching a business, we wait until the stars are aligned just right.

Or if we’re creating a presentation, we wait until we have everything organized before we start.

Now, if you’re like most people, that approach hasn’t really worked all that well.

And the reason is because we have the formula backwards – we believe that motivation leads to action when in fact, the reverse is true.

Action leads to motivation.

In other words, when we take action on something, the motivation soon follows.

The magic happens AFTER you get to work, not before. It happens once you’ve started typing, or started practicing, or started organizing your presentation.

Remember that key lesson – motivation doesn’t lead to action. Instead, action leads to motivation.

Once you take action on something, the motivation will follow. And that can change the outcome of your life.
